Summary

The Sacred Heart of Jesus feast day is this Friday! Let's prepare for this great feast day by learning about Jesus and His Heart that is meek, humble and so desiring our love. This week we will explore the union of human and divine love in the Sacred Heart. We will also discuss the parts of the image of the Sacred Heart and how the Sacred Heart allows us to understand that ways in which Jesus continues to suffer as He loves us. We also have three incredible saints we are celebrating this week, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Germain Cousin and St. Lutgardis. These saints all deeply loved Jesus and had a true encounter with the Heart of Jesus.

0:30.6	Hey there, Spouse. Today is Tuesday, June 13th, 2023. Today is also the feast day of St. Anthony of Padua. Now, St. Anthony is a very important saint and famous, especially if you have lost something. If you have ever
0:40.5	lost something and said the prayer, St. Anthony, St. Anthony, please come around. Something is lost
0:46.2	that cannot be found without your help. Then you are praying to today's saint. So a little bit about
0:52.5	St. Anthony. He actually was not born in Italy, even though we
0:57.2	remember him living there. He was born in Portugal, specifically in the city of Lisbon.
1:02.9	He was very devout. He gave his life to Jesus, took the name Anthony as a friar, and during this time there were relics of Franciscan friars
1:14.3	who had given their lives as martyrs in Morocco. Now, St. Anthony lived in the 1200s, and during this time,
1:23.2	the Ottoman Empire, which was an Islamic empire, had a very fierce army, was out conquering
1:30.4	huge parts of the world. And so the Franciscans were out amongst these people trying to
1:36.8	teach them about Jesus, and many of them lost their life in this situation, specifically in
1:42.9	North Africa. St. Anthony was so filled with
1:47.2	faith and joy to go and join them in the mission fields that he left home. He went to North
1:53.0	Africa, but very quickly he became super duper sick and had to leave. He tried to get back to Portugal,
1:59.3	but a terrible storm hit the ship that he was traveling in, and he was shipwrecked in Italy.
2:05.9	While he was there, he just happened to be present for a huge gathering of Franciscan and Dominican preachers.
2:15.0	In fact, he lived so long ago that St. Francis, the founder of the Franciscans,
2:20.6	was still alive. So St. Anthony was there. At this huge gathering, however, it turned out that no one
2:28.0	had prepared a homily. So they were all gathered for Mass, and they were thinking, oh, no, who is going to preach?
