Summary

We are kicking off Mary's Month by praying and ENTIRE Rosary together on the podcast this week. Each day we will pray one of the Glorious Mysteries. Before each mystery I will share a reflection based on the writings of St. Mother Teresa that allows us to see Jesus present in the Eucharist in the Rosary. Let's adore Jesus with the heart of Mary!

Our new book, Adoring Jesus Through the Rosary, which share these reflections as well as a reflection for each mystery of the Rosary, is on sale now. Get your copy here: https://shop.catholicsprouts.com/collections/the-rosary

Hey there, Spouts. Today is Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Today is also the feast day of two of Jesus' apostles, his apostle Philip, and his apostle Little James. So they are both very different men, but they share today as a feast day.

0:46.8

What we know about Philip is that he was originally a follower of St. John the Baptist,

0:56.5

that he brought his friend Nathaniel to also meet Jesus, who became one of the 12 apostles as well. And we also know that he went to proclaim the faith throughout the world after Jesus's ascension into heaven, and he

1:02.3

died a martyr for the faith in Turkey. Now, little James, we don't really know really a whole

1:08.9

lot about him. There was two Jameses in these 12 apostles that followed Jesus,

1:14.0

and history can be confusing about which one we're talking about.

1:18.5

But little James, he was probably shorter or younger than the other James.

1:24.4

Some historical accounts say that he was actually a cousin of Jesus, so he might have also

1:30.4

grown up in Nazareth. We think that he maybe wrote the letter from James in the Bible,

1:37.7

so he might be reading his words. The one thing we do know for sure is that he also died a martyr

1:43.0

for the faith in Jerusalem.

1:45.4

So both of these men, of course, risked their lives telling the world about Jesus Christ

1:51.5

and are a big reason why we enjoy being Christians today because they were so brave to proclaim

1:58.4

the good news.

2:00.6

Now, it's May, so we are continuing to pray the rosary this week.

2:04.9

We are on the third glorious mysteries.

2:08.6

Once again, we will be using a reflection based on the writing of St. Mother Teresa as we get

2:14.2

into this mystery that calls us to see Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament,

2:20.3

Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, present in each of these mysteries,

2:25.6

and how we can just come to such a beautiful acknowledgement of Jesus

2:30.9

and adore him with Mary's own heart when reunite adoration and the rosary.
