This week we are hearing a really cool story from our spiritual director, Father Kyle Kowalsik,

on Tommy's experience at mass, and in particular, his discovery of the priesthood.

Eternal God in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible.

Look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves

to your holy will, which is love and mercy itself. Amen. And so here is the next part of Tommy's story

at Mass.

Then the superhero went to the corner of the ring,

and in a sing-song battle chant,

waved his right hand over himself.

It must have been some sort of shield,

a force field, to protect himself.

Then he turned towards the spectators and opened his once folded hands from over his heart and addressed the people. Tommy felt a surge of power.

Wait a minute. They weren't spectators. They were participants. If he would have known that, he would have worn his own cape.

Instinctively, Tommy returned the incantation. Was it just him? Or did the superhero seem to grow

larger? Like power was returning to him. He uttered another battle cry with his arms spread apart in what must have been

his fighting stance, and then he collapsed into his seat. He must have been exhausted. End of round

one, Tommy thought. Everything was momentarily still. What was that red book the knight had read from?
