Today is the first day in the fourth month in the year of our Lord, 2023.

On the cusp of the holiest week of the year, tomorrow is Palm Sunday.

I'm excited.

This is the third year in a row that our family has given up electric lights for Lent.

That means we only use candles and oil lands for our light sources.

It's pretty challenging, but very rewarding. It helps us remember how much we truly need Jesus, who is the light of the world, who has defeated the darkness of all dragons.

And next Saturday, at the Easter Vigil, a single candle, the Christ candle, will pierce the darkness of our church.

And one by one, each person will pass on that light from candle to candle,

announcing to the universe that Christ our light has risen. I can't wait. I'm getting excited just

thinking about it. Holy Week is a reminder of why I'm doing this podcast and teaching all of you

out on mission to complete the task, to fulfill what is lacking in his redemptive suffering, as St. Paul
