Hey there, Spouts. Today is Friday, March 3, 2020. Today is also the feast day of an incredible American Saint, St. Catherine Drexel. Now, St. Catherine Drexel was born in the mid-1800s in Philadelphia. Her father was

outrageously wealthy. He died when she was a young woman and she and her three sisters

inherited what would be today worth to about about $400 million.

Crazy.

Now, although they were very wealthy, they were also very devout Catholic, and they really

strove to serve the poor.

And so, in fact, after her father's death, Catherine and her sisters set out to serve,

especially they had a heart for African Americans and Native Americans who really didn't have access to good education or health care in the United States at the time.

So they went to visit the Pope and Catherine asked the Pope to send mission, specifically to help with these groups of people.

And the Pope turned to her and said that she should be the missionary that she was requesting.

So she took this to heart.

She realized that the Pope was right.

And she actually founded a religious order called The Sisters of the Blessed
