| 1:02.9 | But before we get to that, I want you to reflect on something that a famous Catholic said not that long ago. |
| 1:10.5 | His name was J.K. Chesterton. And he said |
| 1:13.8 | this. He said that the Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found |
| 1:22.6 | difficult and left untried. No, that might be a little bit confusing to hear, |
| 1:28.5 | so let me explain it. |
| 1:29.9 | What he's saying is that there aren't people in history |
| 1:33.1 | or in the world today that have really tried everything |
| 1:37.4 | that our church, that Christianity offers, |
| 1:40.6 | and they've been disappointed. |
| 1:42.4 | That hasn't happened. |
| 1:44.1 | What has happened instead is that there's a lot |
| 1:46.3 | of people that have looked in at Christianity, looked in at the life that Christ is asking us to lead. |
| 1:53.3 | They thought it was difficult and they turned away and didn't even try. And so, let's just keep this in mind. |
| 2:02.7 | Being a saint, letting go of sin following Jesus, |
| 2:06.7 | it's not going to be easy. |
| 2:08.5 | And Jesus didn't promise us that it would be easy. |
| 2:11.9 | But he tells us it's possible. |
| 2:13.8 | And he tells us, and all of the saints in heaven tell us |
