Hey there, Sprouts. Today is M, December 5th, 2020. We are also in the second week of Advent.

Now, this week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are going to look to the patron saint for this month of the Catholic Sprouts, be a St. Kids Club, who is St. Cecilia, and we are going to be talking about

music, how music is so important just for us as human beings, but vitally important for us

as Catholics. But before we get there, let's remember that we are in the season of Advent and St.

Cecilia has challenged us to memorize two verses from the book of Isaiah, chapter 9,

verses five, and six.

So let's pray these verses together.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

For all the boots of the trampling warriors and all the garments rolled in blood shall be burned as fuel for the fire.

And he is named wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace.

So before we talk about music in general, let's talk about our patron saint, St. Cecilia.

So St. Cecilia lived during the 300th. She lived in Rome. Her family was wealthy.

And although some accounts say that her whole family was Christian, others say that only she had converted,

and that she had made such a deep and profound conversion to Jesus Christ that she wanted to give him all of her life. However, her parents

had other plans and they arranged a marriage for her to another Roman named Valerian who was pagan.

Now, on their wedding night, Cecilia warned Valerian not to touch her or harm her in any way because angels guarded her.

And if he would become baptized, he would be able to see these angels.

Now, Valerian truly loves Cecilia. So he took this to heart.
