Hey there, Spouts. Today is Friday, November 4th, 2022. Today is also the feast day of St. Charles Barameo.

Now, since we are in November, we are going to remember our dead all month long. And as St. Martin dePoris challenges us this month in the B.S. A. St.

Kids Club, we are going to pray and memorize the prayer for the dead.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life, you embrace them with your

tender love. Deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest. The old order has passed away.

Welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy

with your son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen. Now this has been a heavy week on the

podcast. We talked about death. We talked about what happens at the moment of death. We also talked

about the three places where souls are sent.

Heaven, purgatory, and hell.

How heaven is the total fulfillment of joy and happiness

because we are in the presence of God.

How purgatory is a place where souls can be purified so that they can one day join God in heaven.

So all souls sent to purgatory will one day be in heaven.

And finally, we spoke about hell, a real place that is eternal punishment for rejecting God. How saints have seen hell and knowing that it

exists should motivate us to deal with the mortal sins in our own lives through reconciliation,

but also pray diligently for the conversion of others so that their souls might be protected as well.

Now today I just want to really encourage you to make a practice of praying for the dead.

Praying for the dead has been a practice in our church since the very beginning.
