Today is the first day in the 10th month in the year of our Lord 2022.

My name is Sir Roland Paterallat, and you're listening to Saturdays with Sir Roland on Catholic Sprouts,

where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon slain.

Today is the feast of one of my favorite saints, St. Terese of Lassou, also known as the Little Flower. St. Teres is one of the greatest dragon slayers that ever lived, and I'm sure you've

heard of her. She developed a specific method of dragon slain that earned her the title

Doctor of the Church. Her strategy against dragons is to do lots of little acts of

kindness with great love. This method is powerful because anybody and everybody can do it every

single day. And there's a reason St. Terez called herself the little flower. She loved Jesus so

much and wanted to be a great saint, but she felt so small and little. So she developed her little way because she figured if she was like a little child and just

offered what little she could, it would melt Jesus' heart and he would carry her to heaven.

And then she could bloom like a flower and do beautiful things for God and for others.

In fact, before she died at age 24, she famously said about going to heaven,

I will let fall a shower of roses.

I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. Now, I think St. Teres focused on flowers because

she knew that the same thing a flower needs to grow and be beautiful, or the same thing

dragons slayers need to grow strong in the art of dragon slain. So let's test out this theory.

What are some things a flower needs to grow? What's that you said? Water? Correct. A flower needs water. Well, dragon slayers

also need water, but not just any kind of water. We need super natural water, holy water. And we know

that Jesus gave us sacraments as the primary method of becoming dragon slayers.

So can you think of a sacrament that uses holy water?
