And also today in the Catholic faith, we are celebrating a beautiful solemnity. The word solemnity means a high and important feast day. And that feast day is Mary

the mother of God. So happy feast day. I hope that you have some celebrating in store.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are talking about family, specifically using the

example of the holy family as we look at why

family is important and the roles that people are given in family. Yesterday we talked about how

family is a holy institution, so holy in fact that God created a family for himself. Jesus was a member of a family.

And through that, all of our families have been blessed. Today on the solemnity of Mary,

the mother of God, we are going to talk about motherhood. And we are going to use, of course,

our blessed mother, Mary, as an example of motherhood. And we are going to use, of course, our blessed mother, Mary, as an example

of motherhood. So let's talk about motherhood. Now, chances are you have a mother. A lot of families

are different. Sometimes the mothers and families are taken to heaven too soon or through different circumstances.

We don't live with our mother.

But all human beings come from a mother.

And the role of mother is very important.

As you likely know, there are certain things that many mothers do.

When we get hurt, we oftentimes

run to our mothers, even adults. Oftentimes when they're sick, still feel comfort when

they can call their mother and have her comfort them. Mothers are also oftentimes

responsible when a baby comes along because of the way God designed

our bodies. Women carry babies in their womb and they also have the ability to feed and take
