And today we are going to talk about St. Jose Maria Escriva.

Now, St. Jose Maria is our most modern saint we are talking about.

His feast day is actually June 22nd, and he lived during the

1900s. So he was alive less than 100 years ago. He was born in Spain, and he first felt the call

to religious life when he was very young, when he saw the profound example of other holy monks. He answered the call to be a

priest while supporting his family. And in 1928, after a retreat, he founded an organization called

Opus Day. Now, St. José Maria Escriva had a heart for all of us living in the world, who have

jobs and families and all sorts of ordinary tasks, and yet we are still called to pursue holiness.

So Opus Day was an organization that helped people like us, ordinary people, follow God and make their work

holy and the ordinary tasks of their own lives holy. St. Jose Maria Escriva went on to

found another religious order to hold important roles in the church, but he was most well known as a speaker and a writer.

And it is very inspiring to read through what this saint wrote, what he instructed not only Opus Day, but other groups to do and to be.

And so we are going to reflect on two important St.

Jose Maria Escriva quotes that I think can speak directly to any of us, but are especially

powerful if you're younger. So St. Jose Maria Escriva once said this. He said,
