| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:14.8 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Friday, December 14th, 2018. It is also the feast day of St. John of the Cross. |
| 0:28.0 | Now before we get into Moses once again today, let's talk a little bit about our saint of the day, St. John of the Cross. |
| 0:35.9 | St. John of the Cross was a Carmelite, and he worked very |
| 0:39.8 | hard, along with St. Teresa of Avila, to reform the Carmelite order in a time when it was |
| 0:46.8 | desperately in need of reform. St. John of the Cross also wrote some many beautiful spiritual |

| 2:04.0 | of people traveling together, they left Egypt. But the big question was, where do they go now? |
| 2:13.1 | Because they were slaves. They didn't have land to go to or a lot of money to help them buy land. |
| 2:19.9 | They left Egypt completely trusting on the providence of God. So they traveled and not long after |
| 2:27.9 | they left Egypt, Pharaoh changed his mind. He decided that he really was a God and then he would go and get his slaves back. |
| 2:37.3 | So Pharaoh assembled his army in their chariots and they chased after the Israelite people. |
| 2:44.1 | They caught up to them at the shores of the Red Sea. But God did not abandon them. God put a pillar of fire between the nation of Israel |
| 2:55.6 | and Pharaoh's army. He protected them, but where would they go? They were trapped with the sea on one |
