| 1:07.8 | But before we do that, let's talk about a couple of the reasons why the Israelite nation |
| 1:14.7 | ended up in Egypt, where we meet Moses. Well, so here is a quick rundown. So God chose Abraham |
| 1:23.5 | and made his covenant with Abraham. Abraham had a miracle baby, Isaac. Isaac went on to have two |
| 1:31.4 | sons, Esau and Jacob. Jacob went on to have 12 sons, 12. And those 12 sons went on to be the fathers of the 12 tribes of Israel. |
| 1:47.8 | So they really had lots of babies and grew the nation quickly. |
| 1:53.8 | One of Jacob's sons was Joseph. |
| 1:57.6 | You might remember Joseph from the story of the multicolored coat. or if you see the musical, the amazing technicolor coat. |
| 2:05.7 | Joseph was not liked by his brother. He was very close to God and was able to interpret dreams, and his brothers resented him. |
| 2:14.5 | So his brothers were going to kill him, but at the last moment, they sold him to slave |
| 2:19.8 | owners in Egypt. Joseph was taken to Egypt. He worked as a slave. He was thrown in jail. But then through |
| 2:28.6 | God's providence, Joseph was taken out of jail and interpreted the dreams of the Pharaoh. Pharaoh liked him. |
| 2:37.0 | Joseph was put in charge and then famine struck the whole region. Joseph's brothers who thought |
| 2:44.9 | Joseph was dead, but the other 11 brothers came to Egypt looking for help because they were starving in the famine. |
