I remember when I was a college student, I went through a breakup with a boyfriend,

and I called my dad to tell him about it, and he must have sensed the tears, the emotions.

And I remember him saying to me, honey, do you want me to come down?

I was living in Virginia at the time.

Do you want me to come down and be with you?

My dad heard my cry as parents do with their children, right?

So you think about as a mama when your baby cries, he or she may be far away,

but you hear, when you hear that cry, you stop what you're doing and you run to their side. That's a parent's heart. And that's the heart of our

Heavenly Father. When he hears his children cry out to him, he says, I'm going to respond. I'm going to do something about that.

We're talking in these days about how desperate times call for desperate prayers. There's a verse

in Psalm 50, verse 15 that we referenced in the last program, and I want to just read it again here.

Psalm 50 verse 15. God says, call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you,
