begin by telling you about a series of lessons that were recently presented here at the Lindale Church.

My friend Ryan Goodwin, who preaches just east of Memphis, came into town and delivered six lessons with the theme,

Boys Will Be Men, which is just such an important reality to address.

So he talked a lot about young men and their growing faith.

He talked about things like moral excellence and God's concept of manliness. The whole series

was outstanding. And by the way, you can find all of those videos at our YouTube page.

Just check out Lindale, Church of Christ. On the last night, he explored our

relationships as children of God. And in order to do that, he explored a phrase that only appears

three times in scripture, Abba, Father, which, by the way, can be pronounced Abba or Abba,

although you're pretty much stuck with father on the back end.

But those two words said together represent this interesting scope of the relationship that you

have with God as his child.

The term only occurs three times in Scripture, and the progression of that is actually

kind of interesting. The first occurrence is in the garden in Mark's Gospel, where Jesus cries out,

Abba, Father, when he was asking for assistance from the Lord. The second case, chronologically,

would be recorded in the book of Galatians chapter
