Captain Rick Ollick of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department was the primary investigator

of Katie, River, and Aiden's death.

A native of South Carolina, Ollick had moved around a lot as a kid to live close to whatever

church his past or father had been assigned to.

An article in Post and Courier states that Ollick graduated from St. Stephen's Academy

in 1982.

The article goes on to say that he worked at a local grocery store before joining the

Monks Corner Fire Department.

Interestingly, Berkeley County Corner Bill Salisbury, who was a town councilman at the

time, gave Ollick that job.
