Sivan. Hello. Good morning. It's great to be here.

Director of the Department of Public Safety, 4,000 employees, big monster, multi-billion dollar budget.

Can you tell me in a nutshell what you do or earn two nutshell, two nutshells or three nutshell?

Sure.

We're responsible for all things related to keeping people safe in the state of Ohio.

So it's a big agency, 10 divisions.

The biggest division I have is the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which is one of the biggest law enforcement agencies in the state of Ohio. I also have Ohio Homeland Security, Ohio Emergency Management Agency, the Ohio School Safety Center. So a lot of folks who, again, just wake up every day thinking about how we can keep the citizens of Ohio safe. And a big part of that, as I said, is the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which is my first responder group. That's my law enforcement group. And then as part of this job, I work with law enforcement agencies, public safety agencies, and other stakeholders all across the state. So very passionate about keeping people safe. Look,

the number one function of government is to keep people safe. If you don't get that one right,

nothing else flourishes. It doesn't matter how good your economic revitalization plan is. If people

don't feel safe when they go downtown, they're getting robbed, they're getting mugged. They're just

not going to go downtown.

So we have to get, we have to get that piece right. And what I'm excited about today,

being here with you is a big part of getting the public safety piece right is making sure that we take

care of our first responders. And we got to hit that wellness piece. And we got to make sure that our first responders are really physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally well so that they can do the job that we ask of them. And that they can make it through a very challenging and demanding career, come out the backside, still healthy enough to enjoy retirement. So looking forward to talking about that, looking forward to talking about really morale building,

esprit of core, training, you know, wherever you want to go in the public safety,

wellness space. I'm looking forward to it this morning.
