Okay, I've played D&D since the 80s, so I'm not familiar with the mechanics of the games anymore.

I was listening to episode 206, orm spells were missing consistently.

I'm sure some of us do the unlucky roles, but I did piece together that his bonus was 13 compared to torque.

Who seems to have a 17 to 20 bonus?

It seems unbalanced.

My question is this, is this intended within the rules of his character or equipment not being optimized?

I know that Randas is the usual die rolling punching bag, but on my count, orm is the one who has the hardest time with tech roles.

I would point out that most of the orm spells, if not all, do you target non armor class defenses?

Right. So the game has this thing built into it, which is that usually weapon attacks target armor class,

and usually non weapon attacks will target either fortitude reflex or will.

Usually those defenses are lower, and usually attacks that target them are lower.

And the reason, or, I guess mechanically, the reason for that is that weapons have a proficiency bonus.
