Summary

Critical theory and its expression in fields like critical race theory, critical pedagogy, and queer theory are having a profound impact on our culture. Carl and Todd sit down with Neil Shenvi and Pat Sawyer, authors of Critical Dilemma: The Rise of Critical Theories and Social Justice Ideology, to discuss how contemporary critical theory’s ideas about race, class, gender, identity, and justice have dramatically shaped how people think, act, and view one another—in Christian and secular spheres alike. 1:20.5	Two guests, Neil Shenvey.
1:23.5	Neil is well known for his online writings about critical race theory.
1:27.5	He has an A.B. in chemistry from Princeton and a PhD in theoretical chemistry from UC Berkeley.
1:35.3	He's the author of Why Believe, a reasoned approach to Christianity,
1:39.2	and is widely recognized for his writings on critical theory. And along with Neil, we have Pat Sawyer.
1:49.0	Pat has a BA in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill and an MA in communication studies from
1:54.2	UNC Greensboro and a PhD in educational studies and cultural studies from UNC Greensboro.
1:59.8	And he's a faculty member at UNC Greensboro and has been published in the Academy and
