And I've been reflecting on that feeling that I was hoping to bring with me in that intro last week,

that feeling of being with the trees and the river and the leaves.

And I was having a kind of stark realization about it, which is the reason why it feels so powerful to be in nature, to really bring my

attention there and to be with it in a feeling way, is because that so much of my experience

of life doesn't feel like that.

That so much of the modern lives that we are leading,

they don't feel expansive like that at all.

That there's so many barriers and buffers

and just ways that we've been removed from that natural wonder of our

environment, that it's actually become like a discipline that you have to exercise in order to get

yourself to go be with it, to just go be with trees and a river and the leaves.

It's like you have to be disciplined and it's like an effort that you make.
