Comedian Kristella Alonzo is the youngest of four kids.

They were raised by a single mom in South Texas where they lived in an

abandoned diner. There was no running water, no electricity. This family that

lived next to the diner would basically lend us electricity and we

would have an extension cord. So my mom used to cook our food on a space heater.

Growing up that poor motivated Cristella.

It's also what a lot of her jokes are about

in the sitcom she created and in her latest comedy special.

Back when I was growing up, you could feed a family of four
