Hey guys, this is Heidi St. John. Welcome to the podcast. We're having a pretty big issue at our public schools right now. I know. That's a shocker. You guys can't believe it. This is why we can't have nice things, by the way. Public schools across the country right now are seeing students walk out of class to protest ICE and immigration enforcement, which, by the way, we all agreed that we wanted our borders

to be secured and we wanted to enforce immigration across the country. We all agreed on this

until about five minutes ago. And predictably, the conversation is being framed as a free speech

issue, but that's actually not the real issue. The real question is why in the world are government

funded schools, my tax dollars, your tax dollars, why are they becoming political

organization centers? Parents send their kids to school to learn math and science and reading

and history, not to participate in taxpayer-funded political protests, and that's exactly what's happening.

And here's an even deeper concern.

These protests almost always run in one direction politically.

You don't see schools facilitating walkouts for border security.

We don't see rallies supporting law enforcement or ICE agents who risk their lives every day to

enforce federal immigration law. Why? Because the ideological current inside of much of our

public education system already leans to the left. And when schools allow activism during school

hours that align with one political worldview, they're no longer neutral institutions.

They're shaping the next generation's political beliefs, and they're using, wait for it,

your tax dollars to do it.

why parents should be paying attention and what it says about the direction of public education
