Summary

Happy to share this for International Podcast Day - bit of a bonus.

Earlier this month, I took part in Crimecon Glasgow - a tremendous day was had by all, and one of the highlights was getting to sit down with some of the most talented, independent podcasters on the UK True Crime Podcast circuit - the likes of UK True Crime, Lady Justice Podcast, The Troubles Podcast, Murder Mile, The Cult Vault, and Twisted Britain - who I'm pleased to call friends, for us to just shoot the breeze and discuss why we do what we do.

Bob and Ali, the hosts of Twisted Britain, were kind enough to record the conversation, and have packaged it here for us to share. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we did, and I look forward to taking part in more like it.

Speak soon all. Paul (TTCE)

Hello and welcome to Behind the Mike at Cremcon. We did this on a small scale at Cremcon

in London and what I've managed to do is wrangle, I would argue, some of the best podcasters

0:14.7

in Britain, into a tiny room with possibly the worst view out of any window you've ever

0:21.0

seen. I'm Bob from Twisted Britain, I'm joined as always by Ali, my co-host in Twisted

0:27.0

Britain. We are, however, joined in this tiny little room by Adam from True Crime, Shantel

0:32.0

from the Lady True Crime Justice, Oshin from the Troubles, KC from Cult, Cult Vault, you

0:37.2

have to get that one right everybody. Mike from Murderbile and Paul, the True Crime enthusiast.

And I would be a missed estate again that I think this is probably the first time we've

0:49.2

all sat down together in a room in front of a microphone. We've all sat down in many

0:53.8

a room together, most of it involving alcohol. This is, of course, but what we thought we

1:03.0

would do, we would just take a moment, maybe half an hour out of our Cremcon day, which

1:07.1

has been pretty good so far, I've had fun, boozy, boozy. Ali and I missed the Friday night

1:14.6

this year of the first, the inaugural Glasgow Cremcon and based on everybody's faces when

1:22.5

we arrived, I'm very sad we missed it. It seems like it was a very good night, but we're

1:27.2

going to have a good time today anyway. So I'll probably just open up the microphones.

1:33.0

It's a bit of an awkward scenario. We'll put a photo up to go with this when we release

1:36.8

it. There are, what's that, eight of us sat around four microphones. So we're being

1:40.2

friendly, shall we say. Kickers off, I suppose the obvious question is, why do you podcast?

1:49.0

Anybody want to go with, why do you podcast? Because we love it. We love what we do. We

1:54.4

love telling stories with story tellers. We find, I think I do it because I find people

1:59.3

fascinating. People are real and original, but biographies, I don't know whether you guys

2:06.9

agree when you read a biography. It's kind of not honest or not a biography, it's not
