Jill Dando was an English journalist, television presenter and newsreader. In 1999, at the age of 37, Jill was shot dead in broad daylight on the doorstep of her home. This prompted the biggest murder inquiry conducted by the Metropolitan Police and the country’s largest criminal investigation since the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper in the 1970s.
