Hello everyone and welcome to Criminal Broads, a true crime and history podcast about wild women on the wrong side of the law, wild women on the right side of the law, and wild women on the right side of the law defending people on the

wrong side of the law. Are you with me? Before we get into today's very rollicking episode,

I wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you for your incredibly gracious response to

last week's episode, the story of Lisa Montgomery, which I know was so difficult.

And I was so nervous to put it out. I was much more nervous than I even said in that episode.

And you all were amazing. I already knew I had the smartest and most empathetic listeners

in the true crime podcast space.

Don't tell anyone else.

But your responses were so kind and I feel like you all just really took the episode

in the spirit with which it was intended.

Is that the right phrase?

And you just like got it and you listened so graciously. And even if you didn't necessarily agree with me on everything, you said so so politely. So I feel lucky. I feel relieved. I feel, yeah, I just wanted to say thank you. And, you know, a case that is that graphic and horrible, you know, that's the exception rather

than the rule around here. I'm not going to walk you through details like that unless I really

think it's necessary to this story. So you can rest easy. We're going back to some lighter subjects,

including today's episode, which is set in the 1930s, an era I love for its fashion.
