Chris Kramer takes son Ian Kramer to a North Dakota emergency room for mental health issues.

Left alone in the car, Ian takes off leading a wild chase.

Cops use a spike strip to pop two of his tires, but he keeps driving.

Cops lay down a second strip, but Cramer swerves to avoid it,

rams a cop car that Officer Paul Martin was using as a shield.

Officer Martin dies on impact.

Nancy Kramer reportedly suffers from severe paranoia and hallucinations, and on the day his

mother brought him to the ER, Kramer insisted on seeing his brother Ike, who died five years ago.

Officer Martin was an 18-year law enforcement veteran who leaves behind wife Mindy, three children,

and four grandchildren.

North Dakota Attorney General Drew Riggly spoke at Martin's funeral, quote,

Paul lived, Paul served, and Paul died selflessly.

Ian Kramer 42, charged with fleeing, reckless endangerment, and manslaughter.
