Brad Mark Crumb approach is an elderly stranger,

makes conversation briefly, then suddenly,

adouses the elder in gasoline and sets them on fire before running away.

Bystanders use water to put out the flames, the man rushed to the hospital with life-threatening burns.

Nancy, the girl's grandmother, told police that she had previously run away for

brief periods of time, but after four days in pass, she became concerned and reported her missing.

Authorities are uncertain how the Marine came into contact with the girl,

but the investigation will continue under the Naval Criminal Investigative Unit

with support from the Sheriff's Department and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force.
