As a result, firstly of the information provided by the cabinet office inquiry team,

and secondly, my office's own assessment, I can confirm that the Met is now investigating

a number of events that took place at Downing Street and White Hall.

The move prompted renewed outrage with growing calls on Dick to resign.

So we are in a really bad place and of course the buck must stop at the top.

The Met have changed their minds four times during this toll saga.
