We really believe that in the baptism God himself is speaking.

He's speaking forth the promises of the gospel to his people and even to this little child.

So that God is active and present among us and at work by the power of His Holy Spirit.

And we want to, as the people of God, receive that work with faith as the whole community and call each other to that

faith. So I just would want to emphasize it as a gift and a good thing to be pursued and embraced

and at the same time not go as far as saying like, oh, well, if you don't have this, like you said,

John, that means that your

children don't have as good of a chance of believing in Jesus.

I mean, we put our children under the ministry of the Word, and we know that the Word of God

creates faith, it sustains it, and I trust that you guys are doing that, and God help us all to do that.
