We'll learn where they came from, what makes them special, what they might eat.

We'll also learn some fun new words along the way.

Then you get to draw them and show off your art in our monstrous Masterpieces Gallery on our website.

Think of a creature that's usually very big and strong, often much bigger than you.

There might have skin that's green, brown or even grey.

And their faces can be lumpy, wrinkly and sometimes a bit scary.

These creatures often have big teeth and a really loud, booming voice.

Some wear dirty old clothes, while others might wear rusty armour.

They can live in caves, forests, or even spooky castles.

Stories say that ogres are big, strong, human-like monsters.

They show up in fairy tales and myths from different places.

Sometimes they're mean and scary, acting like the bad guys, but sometimes they can be funny, grumpy or even helpful.

Think of our very own grumble gut in our Majimajura stories.

They're often shown as formidable. Formidable means strong and impressive. So where did these

big guys come from? Stories about ogre-like beings are really old. In ancient Roman myths, there was Orchus, a scary monster from the underworld,

which is like a place where bad people go after they die.

But the word ogre itself is a bit newer.
