A manticle is a monster from old Persian tales.

Persia was a country in the Middle East. Manticors are known for

being carnivorous. If an animal is carnivorous, it eats meat. Manticles are described as dangerous and

deadly, hunting down their prey. They mix of human, lion and scorpion features makes them very unusual and very scary.

So as I said, manticles were first mentioned in ancient Persia. Greek writers later learned about manticles and wrote about them too.

They often made the manticle even more monstrous,

emphasizing its sharp teeth than poisonous stinger.

The manticle became a symbol of danger.

There was another Greek writer called Catezius, who described the Manticore as a creature from India.

He said it had a human face, a lion's body and a tail of a scorpion.
