It reaches into the cave, its hand searching, as if looking for something or someone.

It's a Cyclops.

Cyclops are giants with one eye, and they come from Greek myths.

These are very old stories from ancient Greece.

They're usually shown as having only one eye right in the middle of their forehead.

They often have thick, hairy bodies and wear simple clothes, like animal skins.

Cyclops are often described as very strong and uncivilized.

If someone is uncivilized, they don't follow the rules and customs of polite society.
