Before we jump in, last week's guest, Beth Bradley, wanted to call out a word she used in her interview

that she used by accident, but wouldn't want to encourage others

to use flippantly.

I really appreciate that she emailed me because it's a good reminder to take stock of the importance of word choice and the impact that the words we choose have on others.

So in our conversation Beth called her dog a

spas in the interview and whether or not your intentions are good using the

word spas or spastic in a joking sense is derogatory to people who are disabled and actually spastic.
