live event between Gucci Main and John Batiste.

But let's get right into that meeting between Gucci Man and John Batiste. you do a lot more than jazz but you came from the world of jazz and

jazz and trap one thing they have in common is improvisation. Gucci I think it was

around the time of East Atlanta six when you realized freestyling in the studio was the best way to create for you and that's become your key way of making songs.

How does it work? How does that art of going in the studio with nothing and coming out with something work for you.

With me and being in the zone to make a song and just freestyle it.

It's kind of like I said at that time, you still on the zone six, they they was like when I was 28, 29 years old.

Those moments in time in my youthful days, you know what I'm saying?

I had a lot of energy and it just goes along with that period of time in my life even now. I write my ruffs down but I do it faster because I'm more deliberate when I make something but back then it was just like whatever I make quick just make it being spontaneous. It was a challenge and it was fun and it was like almost trying to make something then the next day

See what you made from the night before that was like they kind of started turning to be a thing like trying to impress yourself.

John, how does it work for you?

A lot of times I have an idea, something that happened in life or something that somebody I met.

I feel like since we've been talking I got boooku ideas already but you get ideas and then you try to make them real and then you go into the studio and I use whatever I can, whether it's the piano,

drum machine, my voice, the guitar,
