Today's message is part two of a conversation

that Craig McConnell and I have had about creativity and story.

So Craig, we've been talking a lot about how God love story and how story is born out of our hearts and I just want to pause and ask you to tell me a little bit about how God is you story in your life and how that's been a part of your journey.

So share some of that with me.

I'm feeling set up for some reason. I don't know if that's you or

the Holy Spirit or what oh gosh yes you know I became a Christian when I was 21 and I spent from about ninth grade on in every free moment just hitchhiking around the country and then later after high school around the world and

doing the whole sex drugs rock and roll hippie search that was common in the day

in music played a huge role. I didn't just listen to music

kind of in some stone nirvana fervor. I listened to the lyrics and the music captured me and I think a whole lot of my becoming

a Christian had to do with songs of the time that reflected people searching, that there is something true, real, there is God,

and the music and the stories of the music I was listening to just Just heard up a hunger and actually directed me

to kind of crying out to God.

So I see my becoming a Christian as the result of good storytellers, good songwriters and musicians.

And all my adult life, I've journaled Alan, gosh I've got volumes of stuff.

And I think some of my deepest most enjoyable times with God have been when I'm writing and it's
