The Spirit of God hovers, suspended, pausing, anticipating, and then his voice.

Let there be light! Photons explode into the air, drawn into waves by the steady hands of Yahweh.

Newborn rays hurtle across the turbulent waters, illuminating ridges and casting shadows across

inky folds.

For the first time in this barren landscape, light shines and gleams, dazzles and blazes,

glimmers and glows, flying, undaunted and easy,

stretching its legs at 186,000 miles per second. Let there be light, as if light had been

begging to be all along. This energy voyages onward at breakneck pace.

It does not accelerate or decelerate.

Its speed is constant.

And as for its form, each wave is two waves, actually,

an electric field and a magnetic field,

oscillating perpendicular to one another.

Energy and a tension.

Yahweh smiles, tension, waves, compression, and release.

The grammar of creation is quickly taking shape.

Yahweh pulls the light like taffy, relaxing the tension to create low energy infrared waves and microwaves, radio waves, hundreds of miles long.

He coils the forms tight, making ultraviolet rays and x-rays and gamma rays bursting with power.

But these are just the ends of light's spectrum.

Yahweh's eyes brighten as he fills in the middle with something special.

Color.

He stretches some of the electromagnetic waves into shallow troughed, unhurried lengths.
