Dr. Horne holds the Moors Professorship of History and African-American

Studies at the University of Houston. He's a prolific author, the author of so many books, including

a recent volume which is especially relevant for today's show. It's called The Dawning of the

Apocalypse, The Roots of Slavery, White Supremacy, Settler Colonialism, and Capitalism in the Long 16th Century.

He's also the author of a new book, it's coming out soon, called The Bitter Sweet Science, Racism, Racketeering, and the Political Economy of Boxing.

socialist program called Creation Myths. We talked today about what is Thanksgiving. Families around

the country gather together for Thanksgiving festivities, but this holiday is one of America's

most important federal holidays. It's also

based on a lie. Like many creation stories about America, it is based on a false history and false
