Hey there, thank you for giving VBS a shot. I'm recording this quick intro a few months after our first

episode now that we have a better idea of exactly what it is we're doing here. This show is a,

call it a crash course deconstruction of the Bible by two people who were raised in church. One

ex-vangelical, hello, and one still mainline Protestant. You'll meet her shortly.

We're learning everything we can about each Bible story as we go, trying to peel away what we were handed by old white guys, and uncover the weird, messy, radiant, troubling, haunted, challenging stuff that's really there.

We're far from experts, but we're trying to read the experts as we go, and we'll have on a wide variety of guests, including regular folks whose lived experiences are different from our own.
