Summary
Is King Charles III a billionaire? Officially, it’s unknown how rich the king is, but what is known is that in addition to receiving a stipend from United Kingdom taxpayers, Charles has created a lucrative business empire.
As the country prepares to celebrate the king’s coronation on Saturday, which is expected to cost the U.K. government tens of millions of dollars, some British residents have expressed dissatisfaction with the royal family’s wealth and questioned whether the monarchy should remain in 2023.
London correspondent Karla Adam joins us today to explain.
