So, John, in the news, we've had this big bad bear market, right?

As we're talking today, the market's had about a 700-point swing, if you measure it by the

Dow.

And there's a certain type of salesperson that absolutely loves this bear market.

Oh, yeah.

They are taking advantage of this this and they are selling fear.

Yes. And they've got some guarantees for you. Are you worried about market crashes? Well, what if you could

invest in the market but have some guarantees? Yeah. Or better. How about investing in the market with no risk?

No risk. None. And on top of that, we'll give you a bonus just for investing.

All right. And possibly interest rates on your money that far exceed anything you could possibly

imagine getting at a bank or in a bond or something.

So every time we get into one of these markets, these guys come out of the woodwork, and it really

puts a bad name on annuities. These, the annuities are the, oh, I don't even have a good analogy for it,

but there's, there's a place, right? There's, saying the word annuity is not a foul word.

No, it's not. In and of itself. I certainly think there is a place in investors' portfolios for

annuities, but I do think that, you know, when I'm sitting

on my side of the desk, I'm almost scared to talk to a client about an annuity now because I know

that they've probably heard if your advisor talks to you about an annuity run. And the truth is,

that's usually not bad advice. To an extent. Right, because there's so many of these annuities that are misrepresented.
