Hello everyone, Chris Martinson here, founder of Peak Prosperity, and today we're going to be going into chapter two of the crash course.

Now, the crash course represents probably one of the best pieces of work I've done in my life.

You maybe have seen my COVID coverage, you've maybe been following me on economics for a while, but the crash course really lays down

the large framework that I think helps, well, it helps me, but it will help you to understand

what's going on in the world right now. In case you haven't noticed, things are a little

crazy in the world these days, and if you've been feeling that, this helps you understand it.

So with that, let's turn now to this chapter two, which is money.

Okay, you have to understand money and how our money system actually works in order to have any

chance of trying to decode what's going on in the world. Because your lives, my lives,

we are all really 100% wrapped up around our economic

models. If our money system fails on us, our society fails, all kinds of things fail. So what's

going on? This is a topic that I know a lot of people don't get a lot of training and it's not

that hard. So the reason I have

for explaining why our educational system here in the United States and many other Western

countries fails so comprehensively to teach even the basics about how banking works, about how

money creation works, the role of money in a society. These are all things that everybody should know.

These are all things that were debated vigorously back in the time of our founding fathers here in the United States

because they knew that a money system is the social contract.

It is the glue. It is the thing that enables trust to be telegraphed and carried across long distances.

I don't know you.

I've never met you.

And we can still conduct business together because of the glue of our money system.
