Jim Kramer here to share with you a sample of my take on the market from today's

0:06.7

CNBC Investing Club morning meeting.

0:09.0

Jeff, we have a day, which is very akin to what I wrote about this weekend in my Sunday

0:15.4

think piece, which is that you have big down, but then there's no follow-through. And I think one of the best examples,

0:23.3

let's just go there, is Starbucks. Starbucks pre-announced last night, quarter was horrible,

0:29.0

but keep in mind, these aren't Brian Nichols' numbers. He was CEO for three weeks of this quarter.

0:34.5

Hasn't put in his plan yet. So you got to give them the benefit of the

0:37.7

doubt, but it's clear that what they were doing under previous regime did not work. And they

0:45.0

pointed that out that all their investments and promotions did not work. Comps traffic was down.

0:52.2

Significantly, comp's down 7% versus an estimate of down 3.5.

0:56.3

Earnings, 80 cents versus an estimate of $1.3.

0:58.9

So the good news is that they can only really go up from here.

1:03.2

And I think that's what the market is saying today.

1:05.0

As you can see, now it turns green after being down 3% and 4% pre-market.

1:09.0

Last night it comes out and trades to 92-93.

1:12.6

And I said to myself, well, don't people realize what he did was do a clearing event.

1:16.6

He's actually just gave you the numbers that got Luxman-Resim fired.

1:20.6

And it's going to be up from here.

1:22.6

I would stress the simplification.

1:24.6

One of the things that he worked on the most, Brian, when he was at Chipotle, was he timed all of your lines. And it was a 23-second throughput in a Boston

1:35.3

Chipotle that he saluted on the conference world. This is a man, it's about getting your

1:40.7

coffee, getting it fast, and also not making it so that, like Luxman did, millions of options. So more than a million permutations. That's stupid. No, absolutely. And look, this turnaround is not going to happen in a quarter's time. Probably not even. It's going to take a little bit, but there's a really good video that they put out. I love that video.
