| 0:00.0 | I'm Jim Kramer and you're about to hear a sample taken directly from today's |
| 0:06.5 | CBC Investing Club morning meeting. |
| 0:09.8 | A lot of the regional banks rebounding today, Treasury Secretary Yellen did say this morning |
| 0:15.1 | that the government is ready to provide further guarantees to all deposits if necessary. And we've been saying for about a week |
| 0:23.3 | now that the government needs to ensure all deposits. Clarity. Exactly. Clarity on the deposit |
| 0:29.7 | base so that these runs don't happen. And then next we'll be focused on this commercial |
| 0:33.2 | real estate after you finish these runs. You know that's the case. Although I have to |
| 0:36.6 | tell you, I was heartened by the fact that New York Community Bank got upgraded, even though they bought signature, which is a bank that had all sorts of real estate. So it's something to watch. There's positive and negatives, but if FRC stays up, the banks stay up. And I think people are betting or short covering. The FRC has some sort of deal. I don't know, nobody knows. We do know that someone knows the deposit flows. We don't have that number. Sure. If we got them, it would be something. One of the things I mentioned that tech is positive, I mentioned that banks are positive. I never thought that we'd ever see oil positive. Right. Oil rebounding, too. You have rates moving up as well. |
| 1:12.6 | That's inflationary and also a sign of end-of-flight to quo. |
| 1:16.3 | Yeah. |
| 1:16.9 | And it's interesting, too, because it comes ahead of tomorrow's FOMC meeting. |
| 1:22.1 | Of course, now probability is looking for a 25 basis point rate hike. |
| 1:30.3 | There is some conversation, though, will they pause? Will they do 25? Well, you just got a new housing start number, which was off the charts. |
| 1:34.3 | It was a double-digit number. People expected much less. |
| 1:37.3 | And I think that's because, as Lenard told you in the Comps School, every time rates dip, you get buyers. |
| 1:42.3 | It's just, it doesn't matter about the cycle. |
| 1:45.7 | Remember, I think people keep confusing. Long rates do it matter. And long rates are down and then people |
| 1:52.4 | buy homes. It is not rocket sun. |
