Summary

Prayer is one of the great benefits of life as a New Creation in Christ. In today’s episode, we hope you are inspired to step into this joyful, relational, and compelling life of prayer.

+ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

+ Colossians 1:12. giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

0:12.4	Now, one of the key things here is understanding what it means to be a new creation in Christ.
0:18.4	Colossians 3-2 says, set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth.
0:23.6	For you died and your life is now hidden with God in Christ.
0:28.6	That piece of good news means that our old nature has passed away.
0:33.2	And because we're new creations, we get to practice our new nature every single day.
0:39.0	Rather than striving to change our behavior to earn something from God,
0:43.0	we're operating under the truth that the new nature of Christ is already within us.
0:49.2	So when we pray with God, we're always praying from a place of victory, not for it.
0:55.8	Let's turn it over to Graham Cook, as he shares more about how to craft prayers with God.
1:04.6	In 2003, I wrote a book called Crafted Prayer.
1:09.6	After I had a series of encounters with God in life,
1:14.2	that taught me to understand an experience prayer from the place of inheritance in Jesus.
1:22.4	And I realized that practicing living as a new creation in Christ
1:28.8	brought me into the place of unique privilege because of the truth that Jesus actually lived in me,
1:39.0	which meant I lived in the place of his inheritance in the Father.
1:46.0	You know, we can only pray effectively from the position of being the beloved in Jesus
1:52.6	as he is.
1:54.6	So are we.
1:56.4	Christ lives in me and I am learning how to live in him with him.
2:03.6	So key number one.
