debate was really just a mess. Donald Trump blustered over Joe Biden repeatedly, and really

there was almost nothing to glean on the future of U.S. economic policy or any policy whatsoever.

So I talked to Anna Shemansky, who stayed up late, watching and writing on the debate, wrote a piece for us that

was widely read. It tells you there's extraordinary interest in the U.S. election, of course,

but not a lot of hope after watching this shambolic 90 minutes. But dear listener, do not despair.

On a lighter note, I traveled to Milan this week and caught up with our columnist Lucy Yucca.

She wrote a pretty interesting piece on why Italy's Sierra A soccer club should accept a deal from CBC Capital to sell 10% of itself.

Essentially, the bio is designed to quell squabbling among the 20 teams in the league, bolster media rights, and make Italian soccer great again. Next week,

we'll know whether the owners of clubs like Juventus and Lazio also agree with Lisa. Anyway,
