On Christmas Eve, the town of Willowbrook looked something straight out of a hallmark movie.

Snowflakes drifted lazily through the air, dusting the cobblestone streets and rooftops in a soft, glittering veil.

The holiday lights twinkled from every window

and the faint scent of pine and cinnamon wafted through the crisp winter air.

But in one particular apartment, nestled on the edge of Willowbrook's main street,

there was only peace and quiet, accented by the occasional crackle of the fireplace.

In the soft hum of a contented gray cat purring gently.

Alex sat by the window, a steaming mug of hot chocolate cradled in their hands.

The room was cozy and warm with the gentle glow of fairy lights,
