It's Felway Football. J.P. Finley here Tuesday, 3 o'clock. Still don't know who's going to start at quarterback for the commanders on Thursday against the Cowboys on Christmas Day on Netflix. It sure seems like it's going to be Josh Johnson saw Mariotta in the locker room. And that hand looks beat up. They signed Jeff Driscoll and there's a lot of consternation about Sam Hartman's role. A whole lot less consternation, I think, between us than there is maybe on the fan base with Sam Hartman.

But, you know, I think that we saw in the preseason what Sam Hartman brought to the table, and quite frankly,

I don't think his arm strength is, you know, really NFL quality. And ultimately, that's why

you have a practice squad is to allow guys to get better, to work on the things that they need

to work on. And that's why Sam Hartman is there. And this coaching staff, I think, kind of showed you what they thought of Sam when they kept Josh Johnson around. Because, quite frankly, you know, you never want to get to a third quarterback in a season, but they wanted the emergency quarterback, Josh Johnson, in case of, you know, all hell breaks loose on game day. Emergency. Yeah. Emergency. Exactly. You have a guy who can step in and actually throw the football and his played in NFL games before. So I understand that folks are upset about it, but at the end of the day, that's why you have a practice squad. Yeah, dude. I get the surface level reaction. Why is this guy around if you're not going to play him? And I get the,

there's, you know, maybe there's some hypocrisy of like, yeah, we love Sam. We want to keep

them around. But now you actually have this opportunity where like, if the thought is why wouldn't

you play him, your four and 11 let him out there? I can understand that. I just don't think it's like when Cliff Kingsbury said it'd be unfair to play Sam on a short

week like this without any of the reps.

He's telling the truth.

Hartman probably has taken five, five, seven, a count on one hand, 11 on 11 snaps since August.

Like, they have Jaden, Marcus Johnson.

Like when Jadim was healthy, Josh Johnson's not getting any actual snaps,

Scout team or any of it, because Marcus wants to run that.
