First up, Matt Hancock. I started by asking him why on earth we have to give our names and contact details

when we go to pubs and restaurants from the 4th of July.

Well, it's simple enough as to ensure that you can be contacted.

So what, like a phone number or?

Phone number, email address, that sort of thing.

We're talking to business right now about exactly how to design it

in a way that minimizes the impact on business.

But the...

And it's everybody, I mean, it's not just one person per table, it's everybody who goes in.

Well, if everybody lives in, if everybody on the table lives in one household,

then one contact is likely to be sufficient.

But the killer point about it is that the whole approach we're taking is to try to get away from national lockdown measures

and have much more targeted measures, hence NHS test and trace.

And this way, instead of having pubs and restaurants all closed...

All of them across the country, if there's a flare-up, you can just close down a few pubs in an area.

Or contact some people who've been on the table next door or may have been in close contact.

And it means people can have more confidence in going to a restaurant because they know

that if there's a problem, then they'll get to know about it.
