Right now nearly half of the United States is still in the middle of a serious coronavirus outbreak. Federal officials released a new report this week that found

COVID-19 flare-ups in 21 states now are bad enough to be in the so-called red zones.

That means those 21 states have all been reporting more than 100

cases per 100,000 people in the past week. And those states are mostly in the

south or west like Florida, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and California.
