| 0:17.0 | So, John, fascinating times to have an Alzheimer's meeting, I suppose. |
| 0:21.0 | Yeah, let's just say COVID-19 was a big presence this year. |
| 0:26.0 | Partly, that was because of the Delta variant that is spreading so fast. |
| 0:30.0 | I was sitting in one session when someone walked up to the podium |
| 0:33.0 | and announced that we all had to mask up. |
| 0:36.0 | This was when the CDC had just changed its mask guidance. |
| 0:39.0 | And while there wasn't a huge surge in Denver, this meeting draws people from all over the world. |
| 0:44.0 | So, we all started wearing masks. |
| 0:46.0 | Right, I mean, last year it was virtual. |
| 0:48.0 | We were about six months into the pandemic. |
| 0:50.0 | So, I imagine a lot of research has happened since then, both related to COVID |
| 0:54.0 | and more generally, because Alzheimer's is such a huge area of study. |
| 0:58.0 | That's right. |
| 0:59.0 | And I'd like to talk about a couple of things. |
| 1:01.0 | First and foremost, there was some new research on whether there's a link between |
| 1:06.0 | COVID and Alzheimer's. |
| 1:08.0 | Second, I was on shortwave a few weeks ago talking about the new drug that the FDA approved for Alzheimer's. |
